Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Escape Room?

When playing an escape room, you are locked inside a game floor with only one hour to utilise all your problem-solving skills to complete all the puzzles within the room in order to escape. This is the basic concept that all escape rooms follow. What makes each escape room unique is that all the puzzles, set design and objectives are geared towards a specific theme.

How much do the rooms cost to play?

Each of our rooms cost a flat rate of $45 per person. Children under 12 years of age can play for $35 per person. If you have a large group of 15 or more, please contact us for pricing information.

Can I play a room on my own/what is the maximum number of players?

Our escape rooms require a minimum of 2 or more players to play as puzzles within the game will require multiple brains to complete. The minimum requirement of players for our escape rooms differs depending on the room. The maximum number of players allowed in one game is 8 but we suggest around 4-6 players for the full experience.

What games would you recommend for first-time players/experienced players?

The difficulty of each game can be found in the game information section of our website. To sum it all up, Avatar is the easiest game we have (but that doesn't mean it will be a walk in the park!), so we would recommend this game for inexperienced/first time players. Da Vinci and Jones are the medium level games and are some of our most popular themes. Lost is our hardest game which is designed to be challenging for more seasoned room escape teams.

What time should I arrive for my booking?

Individual groups: 5/10 minutes before scheduled time.
Team building: 10/15 minutes before scheduled time.

If you are not here within 10 minutes after your scheduled booking time we will have to start your timer as we may have another booking after.

Can I drink alcohol before playing the escape room at Break the Code?

We have zero tolerance policy on alcohol consumption prior to the game. If caught, we will not allow you to play the game and you will be asked to leave. The games are hard enough without alcohol consumption let alone playing whilst intoxicated.

Are the games suitable for children?

Yes, our games are suitable for children, there is nothing frightening or inappropriate for children in any of our rooms.  However, due to the problem-solving aspects of our puzzles, children under the age of 8-9 years old might not enjoy the room to its fullest potential. We do find that the Avatar and Jones' Adventure are very popular amongst children as the themes are engaging for younger audiences.

What if the number of players in my team changes after my booking?

Don't worry! You will only be charged for how many people play on the day, so long as it is still within the minimum/maximum number of players for your selected room.

What is your cancellation policy?

NORMAL BOOKINGS - You can cancel or reschedule your game before 48 hours in advance of your booking at no extra charge and are entitled to a full refund of your deposit. If you cancel or reschedule less than 48 hours before your booking, there is a $90 fee. If you book online or over the phone, this simply means you will not be entitled to a refund of your $90 deposit.

TEAM BUILDING BOOKINGS - When booking a team building, we require for a 50% deposit to secure the games. The due amount can be paid on arrival. The pre-paid deposit is non-refundable, even if your group size changes or in case of cancellation.

Do you host corporate events or special occasions?

Yes, we can host both corporate events and special occasions such as birthdays and stag/hen nights. Please                      for more information.

Where are you located?
